Contacting the surgery
All initial contact with the surgery will be managed by telephone or eConsult. Online booking is NOT available at this time.
We apologise in advance that our telephone lines will be very busy. Please help us to help you efficiently by considering using eConsult and looking at our relevant online resources, rather than phoning or emailing the surgery.
eConsult is a new way of getting advice and medical help from the surgery and can not only provide medical advice but also help with administration queries too.
All appointment requests to see a doctor will receive a call back from a GP and triaged as necessary. If your problem can be managed by telephone, this is the preferred option. If you need to come to the surgery, and you are well, with no symptoms of COVID 19 and no risk factors for having been exposed, we will offer you an appointment. It is important you attend the surgery ONLY if you are asked to in order to minimise your risk and the risk to our staff, and only at your allotted appointment time. We may ask you to wait in your car until your appointment.
If there is a risk you have COVID 19, but we feel you need to be seen, we will give you specific instructions on how and when to attend.
Our nurses, physio and clinical pharmacists will continue to offer appointments. Wherever possible this will be via a telephone call or video consultation. We may postpone some appointments but only after considering your health needs carefully.
Please note ONLY ATTEND THE SURGERY FOR AN ARRANGED APPOINTMENT. If you have been invited in, please be assured the surgery is considered a clean space, and we will do everything we can to keep you protected and your visit as brief as possible. We ask everyone attending the surgery to wear a face covering.
How to request your prescriptions
- Request your prescriptions online or through the NHS app
- Hand your prescription request slip directly to your usual Pharmacy (by yourself or your representative).
- Drop your prescription request slip into our main surgery letter box at Beacon Medical Centre entrance (by yourself or your representative).
- E mail your request to email@example.com (including your name, address, date of birth and items required).
