OUR TRAVEL SERVICE CHANGED WITH EFFECT FROM 1st MAY 2011

Our nurses are no longer able to offer a comprehensive vaccination service for travel.

We can offer vaccines which are available on the NHS:

· Diphtheria / tetanus / polio

· Hepatitis A * CURRENTLY UNAVAILABLE *

· Typhoid - *this is not always in stock at the surgery - it is advisable to call and check*

In order to ensure that you have the appropriate cover, please book 3 months prior to travelling.

Unfortunately we are unable to accommodate the last minute traveller. The NHS does not provide other vaccines or antimalarials.

If you are travelling you need to find out what vaccinations and protection you require.

Travel information is available on the following websites:

http://www.fitfortravel.nhs.uk/   (this is free of charge)

or by telephoning MASTA Telephone Advice Service - 0906 550 1402 (£1/min)

For complex travel requiring vaccines that are not available on the NHS, specialist clinics are available. In this area your nearest clinics are:

Travel Health Consultancy
22 Southernhay West
Exeter
EX1 1PR
01392 430 590 / 07811 216 526

Some travel vaccines are ordered on a private prescription and these incur a charge over and above the normal prescription charge. This is because not all travel vaccinations are included in the services provided by the NHS.
What will I need to bring to my appointment?

1. A completed Travel Vaccination Request Sheet with you to your appointment. Please request one from Reception.
2. A printout of your travel requirements (Obtained through one of the above services).
